About Seedlings Forest School

Every day at Seedlings holds a new adventure! We use an inquiry-based learning approach which means that the children's questions, ideas and interests determine our activities.  We build on their natural curiosity and desire to explore through play, and their imaginations may take us anywhere!

We might make forts and climb trees, dig for dinosaur bones or be penguins sliding down a hill. We may investigate the insects on the forest floor, splash in puddles or write our names in the snow. Whatever we do is supported by an experienced facilitator who provides the tools and resources to help children answer their questions and determine solutions to their problems.

At forest school we see healthy risk as part of development. This doesn't mean that we are careless, but it means that we support children in learning to assess hazards and manage risk. Together, the facilitator and children discuss hazards and ways to stay safe.
